The World of Medical Education in India is undergoing some drastic changes as the number of seats has astronomically increased from 50,000 seats to 70,000 plus seats. The MCI getting disbanded and the National Medical Commission taking over. The handing over the credit to the NBE to conduct exams from the CBSE are good positive steps towards a healthier nation. The very fact that the number of faculties are lesser on count vis-a-vis is another matter of concern and how does the Indian government planning on dealing with it, is a question that only time will answer. The good news is the streamlining and conduct of the exams with the introduction of the NEXT(National Exit Test) could go a long way in bringing a uniformity as India heads towards a sure and better future.
