NEET UG 2020 : How NTA will calculate ranks using the Latest NEET Answer key 2020

NEET UG rank is prepared by considering various other factors such as difficulty level of the exam, the total number of candidates appeared for the exam and the exam preparation level of students, not to mention the results calculated from the Latest NEET answer key 2020. For preparing the NEET rank list, the Agency gives preference to the overall marks or raw score, which is derived from the Latest NEET answer key 2020. All these factors affect the NEET-UG rank.

In case one or more candidates have the same raw score, the marks would be compared through the Tie Breaker policy that has been imposed by the Agency. Also, a candidate must score at least 670 to 690 marks to feature in the top 100 NEET-UG 2020 rank list.

NEET UG 2020 : What is Tie-Breaker policy

National Testing Agency, NTA has four different policies that are enforced during a  tie-breaking situation.

  1. Those candidates who are older in age will be given the first preference over the younger ones.
  2. As per Policy 3, candidates with the least number of incorrect answers in all subjects including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, will be chosen over other candidates. If a similar situation occurs where students secure the same numbers for incorrect answers, policy 4 would be enforced.
  3. Candidates who have secured a higher score in Chemistry will be ranked higher than others. Suppose two candidates secure the same score, then NTA will enforce policy 3.
  4. As per the Tie-Breaker policy, the candidates who have secured the higher marks in the Biology section of the entrance exam will be ranked higher than the others. In case two candidates have secured the same score in this section, then policy number 2 will be enforced.

To explain these policies, MBBS students can check the table given below. Take a look.
